Young Adults (18-35) To mark the end of another series of talks, the Diocesan Young Adults’ group is having a BBQ on Wed 12th July in the grounds outside the Diocesan Office. Synod of Bishops 23: Please see below the link to the latest Synod document called the Instrumentum Laboris, which will be discussed at the synod. Comments on this document to [email protected] by Friday 21st July 2023, so that they can be presented to Bishop Brian McGee who will represent Scotland at the Synod. https://www.synod.va/en/synodal-process/the-universal-phase/documents.html Diocesan Safeguarding Action Plan 23: This has now been approved for use by the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Group (DSAG) and Bishop John. The plan was formed from the analysis of the latest Scottish Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency audit and is intended to drive, monitor and improve safeguarding activity across the Diocese in line with the quality & evidence indicators contained within ‘In God’s Image’; the churches instruction on safeguarding in the Catholic Church in Scotland. A copy of the plan will be made available on the Diocesan website. Monthly Divine Mercy Devotion: There will be a Divine Mercy Mass and Adoration on Wednesday 28 June at 7pm at St Mary’s Church, 163 George Street, Paisley. Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration – Summer Hours: The Oratory will close for the summer this Friday 30 June, re-opening again on Monday 14 August. Over the summer from Monday 3 July – Friday 11 August there will be Adoration in the Church from 10.30 am – 1.00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Adorers are asked to complete a sign-up for these hours using the forms in the porch at the back of the Church. There will be no First Friday Vigils over the summer. The Vigils will resume on Friday, 2nd September at 7.00 pm. Wednesday Workers Mass at 7am: These will cease after this Wednesday until the schools return. Through it, she came to admit the reality of her abortion but also the realisation that she was given no real choice. Feast of St Jose Maria Escriva: Fr Stephen Reynolds will be Principal Celebrant at Mass this Monday, the 19th of June at 7pm to celebrate the founder of Opus Dei. He is a Priest of the Personal Prelature of the Holy Cross and Opus Dei. A personal prelature is a judicial structure of a secular character governed by a Prelate and erected by the Holy See to carry out specific pastoral or missionary activities. Opus Dei is a personal Prelature, international in scope, which aims to spread throughout all sectors of society a deep awareness of the universal call to sanctity and apostolate in the fulfilment of one’s ordinary job or profession. It is formed by a Prelate with his own clergy and lay people, men/women, who in virtue of a divine vocation freely join the Prelature. It is taught by the St Andrew's Foundation for Catholic Teacher Education at the University of Glasgow. Setting Out on the Road is for qualified teachers who have not yet obtained their CTC.
