Diocesan Day for Extraordinary Ministers - Saturday 18th June, St Mirin’s Hall: 11:30am-2:30pm The Diocesan Liturgy Commission will host a Day for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and for anyone interested in learning more about the Eucharist. There will be 3 short talks, with opportunities to ask questions, ending with a period of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and Benediction. A light lunch will be provided. Pilgrimage to Camino de Santiago de Compostelo A group of young adults are organising a Camino de Santiago pilgrimage from 18th July to 25th July 2022 which will include 5 days walking from Vigo to Santiago. Family Rosary Book We invite all families to make a special to pray the family rosary at home every day. Please note that there won’t be the regular parish 5pm Mass. St Michael the Archangel Statue A life size statue of St Michael the Archangel has been specially commissioned for a tour of Scotland. The statue will be in St John's from Wednesday 27th July until Wednesday 3rd August. More details to follow. Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) – External Review The Catholic Church in Paisley is issuing an extraordinary appeal during the month of June 2022 to anyone who may have been affected by any kind of abuse at the hands of clergy or church officials. The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) is conducting an external review of the Diocese of Paisley to hear from people with first-hand experience of how the Diocese has responded to reports of abuse. Anyone who may wish to report on their experience should contact SCIE directly by email at learningtogether@scie.org.uk or by phone on 07921 251614. SCIE will then get in touch to arrange a time to report to the auditors in a way that suits each individual. Today’s Special Collection (8th May): Vocations and Ecclesiastical Students
This collection pays for our Paisley seminarians studying in Rome. Currently we have three students whose seminary fees are £20,000 per year. Unveiling a statue of St Gianna Beretta Molla, Patron Saint of Unborn Children Join the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children as we ask for St Gianna’s intercession for the pro-life movement in the UK. St Gianna was a 20th century wife, mother, and doctor, most often remembered for her sacrificial love for her unborn daughter. She is a patron for mothers, physicians, and unborn children. The unveiling of statue will take place on Thursday 28th April at 7pm followed by Holy Mass at 7:30pm, at Carfin Grotto.
