This Mass will not continue until after Summertime. World Day For Grandparents and Elderly Pope Francis has established the celebration of the World Day for Grandparents and Elderly. It will be on the fourth Sunday of July (25th July) near the liturgical memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. A Plenary Indulgence will be granted under the usual conditions: sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer, according to the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff during the solemn celebration he will preside over in St. Peter’s Basilica or at the various functions that will be held throughout the world. The Plenary Indulgence will also be granted on this same day to the faithful who devote adequate time to actually or virtually visiting their elderly brothers and sisters in need or in difficulty (such as the sick, the abandoned, the disabled and other similar cases),” the note reads. Catholics around the world contribute roughly £70M annually through this collection. Monthly Divine Mercy Devotions and Holy Mass This will take place on Wednesday 30th June at 7pm in St Mary’s Church, 163 George Street, Paisley, PA1 2UN and will be celebrated by Fr Joe Burke. The Divine Mercy devotions will begin with Holy Mass followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. No booking necessary. Just give your details at the door for track and trace. All are welcome. New Dawn in Scotland 12th Annual Conference ‘I have called you by your name you are mine’ Isaiah 43:1-2. This year’s conference will be free to view on YouTube and Facebook and shown over the weekend of the 9th – 11th July. We have fourteen retired priests of our diocese, still active in prayer and witness: one living in Rome, two living in Chile, five in houses throughout the diocese, three in parish presbyteries and three at the Residence of the Little Sisters along with Bishop John Cunningham. We thank God for the gift of these priests and keep them in our prayers.
