The Children’s Liturgy group: (Primary school/ Pre- school) .Rehearsals after the 10am Mass in the church for the children’s nativity which takes place before the Christmas Eve Vigil Mass. Please see one of the liturgy leaders if your child wishes to take part. Christmas Eve Coffee Morning with raffle. This will take place after the 10am Sunday Mass on Christmas Eve. There will be entertainment and mince pies and maybe even a very special visitor? If anyone wants to donate a raffle prize they can hand it in on the day or after 10am Mass on the 17th. Carols in the Cathedral – Wednesday 27th December 2023 at 2.30pm: This is a lovely way for all of the families to come together as a diocesan community and worship in song the birth of Our Saviour Jesus Christ. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. The mystery of faith. We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection until you come again. Or: When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, until you come again. Or: Save us, Saviour of the world, for by your Cross and Resurrection you have set us free. Prayer to St Michael, the Archangel: St Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Divine Power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
