Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration – Summer Hours The Oratory has now closed for the summer on and will re-open on Monday 15 August. There will be Adoration in the Church from 10:30am-1:00pm each weekday, Monday-Friday (excluding Thursdays). St Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio) We will celebrate a Votive Mass of St Pio of Pietrelcina this Wednesday 6th July at 7pm. An individual Blessing of his Mitten will also take place. He last wore this mitten on 10th August 1947, the Anniversary of his Ordination. He used the mitten to cover the stigmata that he received while praying before the Crucifix in the choir loft of the Old Church in the Monastery of San Giovanni Rotondo on 20th September 1918. Solemnity of St Peter & St Paul This Wednesday 29th June, Mass in St John's at 10am and 7pm and in St Thomas at 7pm only (Fr Jonathan away for Ordination). No Vigil Masses. This is an opportunity for children of all ages to gather together to pray the rosary. All families are invited to attend and pre- school children are very welcome. The idea is that children as young as 4 or 5 and up to around 14 can learn to lead the rosary and make the rosary part of their daily lives. The rosary only lasts around 15 minutes. Catholics around the world contribute roughly £70M annually through this collection. In 2017 this collection raised £15,191 which is fully remitted to the Apostolic Nunciature. Unveiling a statue of St Gianna Beretta Molla, Patron Saint of Unborn Children Join the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children as we ask for St Gianna’s intercession for the pro-life movement in the UK. St Gianna was a 20th century wife, mother, and doctor, most often remembered for her sacrificial love for her unborn daughter. She is a patron for mothers, physicians, and unborn children.
