Gift Aid
|
Gift Aid is a fantastic way for you to contribute more money than you currently give to Saint John the Evangelist Parish without having to put your hand in your pocket yet again.
The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor. Charities take your donation - which is money you've already paid tax on - and reclaim the basic rate tax from Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its 'gross' equivalent - the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.
Therefore, if you make regular offerings at Holy Mass in Saint John the Evangelist Parish and are a UK Tax Payer, you can Gift Aid your offerings. As a registered charity, the Diocese of Paisley (and thus Saint John the Evangelist Parish) can claim back money from HMRC on any donations you make to us as a charity. Thus if you give £10.00 using Gift Aid, it's worth £12.50 to the parish.
If you are not yet signed up and wish to do so, please download the Gift Aid Declaration Form. Please complete the form and return it to our Parish Priest.
You can also pick one up from the back of the church. If you are not sure where these are, please ask one of the pass keepers or contact the Parish Priest for further details.
