The Scottish Parliament are considering whether certain people should have the right to state assisted dying/suicide in ending their own life. Professor Leonie Herx, Queen’s University in Ontario has experience of state assisted dying in practice. She said,
“Administering death is cheaper and easier than providing care, and it will quickly become the solution for any forms of human suffering, as we have seen in Canada.”

Ask your MP to stop assisted suicide being rushed into law . Please go to the RIGHT TO LIFE website ; enter your postcode and a letter to your MP will be organised for you. This Bill is the most serious threat to vulnerable lives since the Abortion Act was introduced in 1967

Important Notice – PAYAcharity update

Although  PAYAcharity notified us that any recurring donations to our online giving platform would cease on 16 September 2024, the transition to the new platform has been delayed and proved to be problematic which has resulted in recurring donations to PAYAcharity continuing beyond 16 September 2024.

If your PAYAcharity recurring donation has not yet ceased, and you have recently set up a new recurring donation to the parish bank account please log into your PAYA MyGivingHub account to cancel it by selecting Giving History under the quick link. Under the recurring donations section please select edit and then press the delete button in order to cancel the PAYAcharity recurring donation.
If you have any queries or have made duplicate donations to both the parish bank account and PAYAcharity please contact Jackie Brett by email at [email protected] and we can arrange a refund on PAYAcharity’s behalf.

We continue to encourage parishioners to take out a Standing Order and make the transition of their recurring donations from  PAYAcharity’s online platform to a payment directly to the parish bank account: this avoids 5% deduction of your donation which goes to PAYACharity’s  administration fees and commission charges.

We pray for those who have died recently:      Mairie Quinn, Louise Sancak, John Crossan, Isabell Carberry and for those whose anniversaries
occur at this time:Canon Jim O’Connell, Fr James Murphy, Catherine White, Ethna Herbert, Mary Goldie,  Liam McGinley, Elizabeth Carrey, Michael Conafray, Michael McQuade, Edward Gillan, Mary O’Neill,  Frank Beck,  Peter and Anna Hughes, Jim Connelly, and the first anniversaries  of Stephen McGinley and Edward Joseph McGuire
