Thank you for your kind welcome.

Parish Meetings to explain the Assisted Suicide Bill and how to stop it
The Bill is before Parliament and could pass the critical Stage One by the end of the year which will effectively ensure State sanctioned euthanasia in Scotland. If our MSPs hear nothing from us as citizens, they will feel free to vote it in. Deanery meetings around our diocese will help parishioners build local momentum to make MSPs sit up, take notice and vote against it. Please come to our meetings and invite anyone concerned about this watershed moment.

Friday Night’s Quiz Fundraiser
The first event was a very enjoyable evening and raised £160 for the church restoration project. Thank you Anna Maria for organizing the evening. Adults enjoyed the challenging questions and the children had great fun too.

Children’s Rosary Fri 20th Sept 6pm
The idea is that children as young as 4 or 5 and up to around 14 can learn to lead the rosary and make the rosary part of their daily lives. More information ([email protected] or call 07910266821).

Catholic Mothers
We exist to connect, inspire, and equip women in the vocation of motherhood. Our group runs every Tuesday mornings in the Church hall after 10am Mass-12.00pm. Meet ups are very relaxed, where mums or grandmothers can bring their children along to play while the mothers and grandmothers gather round the table with a cuppa, have a catch up and chat. The topics are usually connected to that week's circulated podcast episode, book extract, Saint or Feast days. For more information please contact: Rachel Callaghan (Core Team Member) 07508835310 Or e-mail: [email protected]

Charity football match
A charity football match is being held today, Sunday 15th September, at 2pm at Brig O’Lea Stadium, Neilston to raise money for the East Renfrewshire Foodbank in memory of Jonathan Morrin.. For those who cannot make it on the day but would like to support, there is a JustGiving page at
https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jonathan-morrin-3?utm_term=Agzn7ZxQY.

Brighter Barrhead 2050 Vision and Plan Stage Two Community Engagement Events
Please drop in for a visit to discuss your thoughts and priorities for the future of Barrhead, on Wednesday 25 September 5.00-8.00pm and Thursday 26 September 10.30am-1.30pm at the Foundry, in the foyer, Main St Barrhead G78 1SW
We have a parish rep Danny Collins who attends the meetings to help bring this project together. You can also talk with Danny if you have ideas you want to discuss. Thank you. Please see posters in foyer.

Safeguarding
Please be advised that any church or group volunteer who falls into the latter category (i.e. has never completed Part 2 training) requires to attend the Induction Training by the end of November 2024, otherwise their volunteer status will be removed. This has become necessary to ensure all volunteers are appropriately trained to the same level and to allow for forward planning for new volunteer training. Please see below for training dates and venues. Thank you.
