Response to the Psalm:
The Lord is close to all who call him.

Sharing Our Faith:
In this weekend’s Gospel (Matthew 20:1-6) the landowner goes out throughout the day inviting people to work in his vineyard. God also calls each of us to play our part in his work, whatever our age, background or experience.  Sharing our faith does not require us to have all the answers.

Prayer to St Michael:
St Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of Battle; Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

We pray for those who have died recently died:
Josephine Day, Hillary Fernandes, John Higgins and Pauline McKee

We pray for the anniversaries of:
Mons. Henry Farrelly, Sara Agnes Brady, Martin Cassidy, Alex Costello, Hugh Gaffney, George Gallacher, Harry Harris, Peter McKenzie, Meta Mullen and for the 12 month’s mind of Marlyn McEwan,

Funeral Notices:
The Requiem Mass for John Higgins will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday 6th October and the Requiem Mass for Josephine Day will be celebrated on Friday 9th October at 10:00am.

Weekly Offerings:
If you wish to set up standing order instead of using church envelopes or the plate collection, you can fill out a standing order form at the back of the church and return it to Fr John.
If you pay tax on your income please consider signing a Gif Aid Form. You do not lose any money but the church benefits from this. Alternatively, you can set up your donation online. Parish bank details available from Fr John.
You can also donate by scanning the QR code

Gift Aid 2025-26:
For the tax year 2025-26, the Parish generated £29,866.87 through Gift Aid which demonstrates the immense benefit such a system has for St John’s.

Every legion is required to carry out a weekly apostolic work and to attend the meeting on a Monday evening at 7:00pm.
