Parish Hall Getting Ready to Move:
The Stage Curtains have now been fitted as we prepare to move into the Parish Hall later in the autumn. Thanks to Anne White who oversaw the installation through the week. There are still final specifications being done to help us work to our tight budget. We hope to have final costs ready very soon. Please keep up the prayers for the work to start as soon as possible.
 
Sacred Heart Prayer Group:
The Prayer Group will meet in the Tearoom on Tuesday 14th October from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.
 
Wednesday Workers Mass (15th October):
There is no 7:30am Workers Mass on Wednesday this week. The Workers Mass will resume on the 22nd of October.

Prayer to St. Michael:
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of Battle; 
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Safeguarding Induction Training – 2025:

Catholic Mothers, Play and Pray Group:
The Catholic Mothers meet every Tuesday in the Hall, between 10:30 am and noon, after 10am Mass. Once the hall is being used for Mass, the mothers will continue to meet in the room off the porch or visit the park (weather permitting). Everyone is welcome to join us. 
 
Catholic Mothers Planners 2026:
Catholic Mothers Planners are now on sale for 2026. All funds go to covering hall hires, retreat costs and are sent to HQ in London.

Mary’s Meals Walk Fundraising:
Mikey, age 10, is taking on another sponsored walk in aid of Mary's Meals for the fourth year running. The last three years he has raised almost £3,000: walking 10K, 11K and 12K respectively.
This year he hopes to walk even further! Please help him raise as much as possible for a great cause.
It takes only 10p to feed a child a school meal.

RCIA for St John’s Parish: 
If you know of anyone who wishes to enrol for the RCIA to become a Catholic, please let one of the priests know. The first session at the Parish house was held on Wednesday 24th September and was very well attended. The next session will be Wednesday 22nd October at 7pm. All are still welcome!
 
Spred Volunteer Drivers Needed:
The Diocese is looking for drivers who could help bring our friends with additional support needs to their Spred group on either a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening. This would involve taking them to / from the Centre at St Peter's Church, Glenburn, once a fortnight, term time only. St Joseph’s Parish, Greenock, Makeover:
The church and hall have had a ‘makeover’ with a refitting of the church and the creation of a new hall space for 100 people. This is the first major change to the church since it was built more than 70 years ago. The project has attracted local interest including a very positive article in the Greenock Telegraph. Former parishioners and indeed all who wish to see the new church / hall space are most welcome to attend the Mass of Thanksgiving which will be celebrated by Bishop John this coming Wednesday (15th October) at 6:30pm and to be the first people to enjoy the hospitality of the parish in the new hall.
 
Pro-Life Mass:
The monthly Pro-Life Mass is on Wednesday, 15th October at 7.30pm at Holy Cross, 113 Dixon Ave, G42 8ER. Adoration begins at 6.15pm. Tea in the hall afterwards – all welcome. The celebrant will be Canon Gerard Conroy.
 
Irmas (Life of the Sisters of Mary):

IRMAS, translated as “sister” in Portuguese, is a feature-length documentary that tells the story of the Sisters and their work reaching children in some of the poorest parts of the world.

The Young Adults series on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - “Heaven Meets Earth” Continues on Wednesday 29th October at 7pm in the Diocesan Office, with ’The Liturgy of the Word’ by Fr Ryan Black.
