Barrhead News Thought for the Week Co-Ordinator:
The Barrhead News have confirmed that they require a person to co-ordinate all of the news and the Thought for the Week contributions from the local churches of the town. If nobody comes forward from any of the local churches, then the churches information page will cease to exist from the end of January. It is not an especially onerous task and probably requires an hour or so once a week to co-ordinate. The team at the Barrhead News would be more than happy to talk any potential volunteer through the role and help them get established.

Piety Stall Christmas Items and Western Catholic Calendars:
The remaining Christmas items are available to purchase in the Piety Stall after Mass and Western Catholic Calendars for 2026 are available to buy for £3.50 each.

St John's Social Committee.
The social committee would like to thank everyone who has contributed in any way this year, be it setting up events, donating money and raffle prizes or attending and spending money. We are truly grateful for your support and wish you the happiest and most peaceful Christmas.

The total amount of money raised in 2025 will be published early in the new year, after the final fundraising events have taken place.
Christmas Coffee Morning Sunday 21st December:
The Parish Hall committee, in partnership with St Mark’s Parent Council, will be running a Christmas Coffee morning after 10:00am Mass on Sunday 21st December. There will be live music, a raffle, entertainment and a very special guest!

Carols in the Cathedral Saturday 27th December:
All are welcome at this annual diocesan event, as we come together as a community and worship in song, the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. We begin at 2pm on Saturday 27th December in St Mirin’s Cathedral, with the Diocesan Choir and Schola Benedicti.

Prayer to St. Michael:
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of Battle;
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
