Corpus Christi Procession: Today from 2pm, beginning in the Church. All First Communicants from Parish and from other Parishes are especially welcome to take part in the procession with the Blessed Sacrament around the grounds. It is another opportunity to wear your First Communion attire.
 
Jubilee 2025: Jubilee 2025, marks 25 years since the great Jubilee of 2000 with Pope Saint John Paul II, and 10 years since the extraordinary 2015 Jubilee Year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis. The Holy Father will lead his second Jubilee, giving it the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” beginning just before Christmas Day 2024 and ending on the Solemnity of the Epiphany in 2026. Hopefully and prayerfully, this will inspire Catholics and even those from other faith traditions to make plans to visit the Eternal City during the Holy Year. You will receive short bulletin extract of a catechetical nature covering the history, meaning and symbolism of the Jubilee which may help build our parishioners’ awareness and anticipation, as well as their knowledge of the particular aspects and graces that flow from it. The first extract will be sent next week.  
Diocesan Pilgrimages to Rome & Assisi for the Jubilee Year 2025: Bishop John will be leading two pilgrimages to Rome & Assisi during the Jubilee Year 2025. Both pilgrimages will include 5 nights in Rome & 2 nights in Assisi. Flights with Jet2 from Glasgow Airport. The Pilgrimages are from 5-12 May 2025 & 12-19 September 2025. Assisted Suicide: Could you be a parish rep working in a diocesan group against the Assisted Suicide Bill before the Scottish Parliament? Reps will write to MSPs and encourage others to do the same; they will meet MSPs in their surgeries; they will call public meetings in Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire, inviting local councillors, MSPs and MPs. Safeguarding Induction Training: Safeguarding Induction training has been organised into one course only.  If you are a new volunteer, or one who completed Part 1 training more than a year ago, you are invited to sign up for the following training session: Saturday 8th June at 10.30 in St John’s Church Hall Barrhead To sign up for a place on one of the above training sessions, you should first inform your Parish Safeguarding Coordinator that you wish to attend Safeguarding Training. Secondly to book a place contact Sarah Jane Colhoun at [email protected]  or call her on 0141 847 6138.
First Friday:  Masses at 7.30am & 10am and the last of Children’s Rosary until September at 6pm. There will be a barbeque afterwards.
 
First Fridays for Life:  The final Mass of the season will be offered in St Thomas', Neilston, this Friday the 7th of June at 7pm with Adoration & Confession from 6pm.

Sunday Coffee Bar:  The Sunday coffee bar after 10 am Mass will stop for the school holidays on the 23 June 2024 and restart in August. New volunteers are needed so please consider lending a hand. If enough people come forward you will only need to take a turn every 4 to 6 weeks. If you are interested, please contact Anna Brown. (+44 7798 768354). The coffee bar has brought in £1093 since January 2024 plus £280 for the young adults going on Pilgrimage to Poland in August.

St Luke’s Parent Council Fundraiser: There is a Ladies Night to raise funds for the school. It is on Friday 7th June at 7.30pm in Fereneze Golf Club. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased by calling Marie on 07939593110.

A Rachel's Vineyard retreat for spiritual and emotional healing after abortion: This will be held north from Wednesday 26th – Friday 28th June. This confidential, supportive retreat is powerful for anyone who has been affected by their own or someone else’s abortion experience. Diocesan Vocations Mass: On Thursday, 12th September, we will celebrate the Diocesan Vocations Mass at St. John’s in Port Glasgow (6.30pm). Bishop John invites you to attend this Mass and to pray between now and the 12th of September for an increase in Vocations to the Priesthood, Diaconate and Consecrated Life. You may find it suitable to offer a daily Rosary or a visit to the Blessed Sacrament for this intention.

Glory

Nicene Creed:  I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I Believe in   one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (At the words that follow up to and including and “became man”, all bow.) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day, in accordance with the Scriptures.
 
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Prayer to St Michael, the Archangel: St Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.   May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
