The Scottish Parliament are considering whether certain people should have the right to state assisted dying/suicide in ending their own life. Doctors express strong opposition to assisted suicide. 82% of doctors responding to the Scottish Parliament Health Committee’s detailed call for views on proposals to legalise assisted suicide have stated that they are ‘strongly opposed’ to the plans. Please let your MSPs know about this. More information on how to do this at: https://rcpolitics.org/assisted-suicide/

Important Notice – PAYAcharity update
If you have any queries or have made duplicate donations to both the parish bank account and PAYAcharity please contact Jackie Brett by email at [email protected] and we can arrange a refund on PAYAcharity’s behalf.
We continue to encourage parishioners to take out a Standing Order and make the transition of their recurring donations from  PAYAcharity’s online platform to a payment directly to the parish bank account: this avoids 5% deduction of your donation which goes to PAYACharity’s  administration fees and commission charges.

St Luke’s High School Prayer Group. As part of our Chaplaincy Strategic Direction we are delighted to be starting the St Luke’s First Friday Prayer Group. Group Prayer fosters a sense of belonging, reinforces shared belief and values and, by participating in communal prayer, can deepen individual faith and encourage spiritual exploration. As scripture states “where two are three gather in my name, there I am with them”. We are therefore delighted to offer this opportunity for all of our young people and staff to come together, to value and understand the power of prayer and its place in their relationship with God.

The First Friday Prayer Group will be on the first Friday of every month in the school oratory. We will be asking our young people to add their intentions to the prayer book. Examples of intentions might include: · Sick friends or relatives · Difficult situations in school · Resolution of difficult relationships between friends · For issues of peace and justice in the world. We are asking that if you have any special intentions of people you would like the prayer group to pray for, please scan the QR code below. We will then add these intentions to our Prayer Book.
