This is Fr Joe’s Last Weekend in St John’s. We give thanks to God for the love and kindness in the many ways that Father Joe has served St John’s Parish for the last three years, in his celebration of the sacraments, especially the Holy Mass and in his sermons,  confessions, marriages, baptisms and funerals, and in his care of the sick and housebound; and also in his work with the schools, especially as chaplain to St Luke’s High School. We wish him every blessing and happiness in his new parish of St Conval’s Linwood, as Parish Priest, where he will take up his new duties on Friday 18 September.  We will invite Fr Joe back to thank him for his ministry here in St John’s in the near future. I am sure you will continue to keep him in your prayers.

This is also Osvaldo’s last weekend in St John’s. We thank him for his witness of faith and love in our parish community over the last four weeks, working with the priests at Mass and in the schools and visits to the sick at home, and in hospital and care homes. He loved praying with the parish each day before Mass with the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Rosary. Please continue to pray for Osvaldo, along with Michael Ward our parishioner, and all the other seminarians who are discerning their vocation as they study and pray out in Rome at the Scots College and the Beda College. We have at present five seminarians for the Diocese of Paisley.
